This Is How We Can Support The Mama Bears Who Are Fighting To Protect Our Children.

On previous blogs I have written about the admiration I have for those parents who are facing down the education cartel to protect our children. We had stood by and, through our apathy and/or ignorance, allowed our schools to put our children at risk on many fronts. Gutless administrators, weak teachers, and power hungry teacher unions, are trying to push an agenda on our children that has little/nothing to do with enhancing their knowledge. The only positive that came from the COVID lockdowns was it gave parents the opportunity to see first hand the kind of garbage that was being jammed down their children’s throats.

We started paying attention when we were introduced to the Common Core Curriculum. It was a disaster! Our kids were struggling with it, and parents found it difficult to help their children with simple homework. Thanks to the dogged determination and selfless efforts of Deborah DeBacker and Melanie Kurdys, who founded Stop Common Core in Michigan, it is truly in retreat. While under lockdowns we learned that our children are being taught Critical Race Theory (CRT). In a nutshell CRT teaches children to be ashamed of their skin color. White kids are shamed because, they are instructed, they enjoy white privilege. Children of color are taught they are helpless victims of that white privilege. By using the totally debunked 1619 history project curricula students are taught to be ashamed of their country. They are told that America was born a racist country, and is irredeemably racist today. We were shocked to see the sex education being taught to our children as early as elementary school. At multiple school board meetings parents were precluded from reading sections from certain books because they were said to be inappropriate for the audience. Yet these books are readily available on the shelves of school libraries. All of the above were advancing unabated until the mama bears said enough is enough.

Today, thanks to the efforts of countless grassroots groups across the country, these issues are being addressed. Because of thousands of mama, and papa, bears in the state of Michigan we are beginning to retake control of our schools. Many local groups have sprung up to rein in the unions, teachers, and administrators, who have forgotten who they were hired to serve. To date these brave patriots have been carrying the load for all of us. They have risked their reputations and sometimes their livelihoods to protect our children. There are millions of us who are benefitting from their efforts.

It is time for the rest of us to join in the movement. There are several things we can do. We can join them at school board meetings. You don’t have to speak, just be there to provide moral support. We should sign petitions supporting their efforts. We can write checks to help defray expenses. Everyone reading this should be able to do at least one of the above.

There is one last thing that every one of us can do. One thing we must do. And it won’t cost us a penny. While the mama and papa bears are doing the heavy lifting we must provide the support they need at the state level. There are eight people who sit on the State Board of Education (SBOE). There are currently 6 Democrats and 2 Republicans on the Board. If you want to know why our schools allow boys in girl’s locker rooms, and on girl’s athletic teams, look no farther than the guidance provided by the SBOE. In November we have the opportunity to change that balance to 4 each.

Those of us who are concerned about our children’s future must commit to do the following. All of the following. 1. It is important that we are dedicated to find the section of the ballot for the SBOE. It is not at the top of the ballot. 2. When we find it we must vote for candidates Tamara Carlone and Linda Lee Tarver. They are both Republicans who are committed to restoring parental control to our education system. 3. If you are voting absentee go to your ballot, right now, and mark the box for Carlone and Tarver. Don’t wait. You’ll forget in a day or two. If you vote in person, write State Board of Education and the names of Carlone and Tarver on a sheet of paper and put it in your purse or wallet, now. 4. Finally, and very important, get 10 pieces of paper the size of business cards. Write State Board of Education at the top and the names Tamara Carlone and Linda Lee Tarver immediately below. Then when people ask you who you are voting for SBOE you can hand them one of the notes. Most people have no idea who to vote for on most down ticket issues. Your suggestion will be well received, especially when you tell them these two candidates are in favor of parents and children. All of these “to do list” items are a spit in the ocean when compared to what the front line people are doing for us and our kids. It is the very least we can do. This is really important to our children’s future. If we don’t do our part it is very possible that we may win the battle, but lose the war.

Thank you for reading my blog. I hope I have sufficiently motivated you to take the steps necessary to secure the success of future Michigan children. Please share with your friends. Bob

Your state board of education recommendations mirror mine. Good picks. And thanks for sharing.

      Vicki,
Their biggest problem in getting elected is that too many people simply don’t vote the entire ballot. Very few voters do any research on down ballot candidates. Which is why I put together the steps I did. This is very similar to the plan I pushed for the SBOE candidates in 2016. It is up to us to get these two accomplished women elected. Thanks for the note, Bob

Those are two courageous ladies. Both have been exposing and fighting the evil in Lansing. This Saturday is a rally at the Capitol in Lansing at 12. Hope many will come out and pray against Prop 3

      Mike,
The work they are doing is worthy of our votes. I will not be with you in body on Saturday. I will be with you in spirit. I hope a lot of people show up.
      Bob
