For those who believe in the Constitution, and our God given right to freedom, the last 12 months have been a lot like navigating a mine field. Our government has approved the spending of trillions of dollars, in multiple pieces of legislation. Most of those bills made it more difficult for small businesses to survive, and caused every product in the country to go up in price. The mother of all spending bills, the Build Back Better bill, would have provided two giant steps on the Progressive Left’s (PL) march toward Socialism. Freedom loving Americans of every political persuasion owe a monstrous debt of gratitude to Democrat Senators Joe Manchin, and Kyrsten Sinema, for standing firm against it. For now, we have dodged that bullet.
We haven’t dodged all of the bullets. It is critical that we recognize the next challenge facing our Republic. It is a silent insurrection led by the PL. They have put forward the John L. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, aka the “For The People Act” (FTPA). A more accurate title would be For The Politicians Act. Free people have no more fundamental right than to freely, and fairly, elect those who will represent them. But it goes beyond the simple right to vote. After all, Russians vote! It is imperative that citizens have faith in the integrity of the entire voting process. That means that voting should be conducted in a free, fair, and transparent, atmosphere. That must be true from the time the first absentee ballot is requested, until the last vote is counted. If the FTPA passes, one could successfully argue that elections will never have the trust of the American people again. So let’s take a look at the draconian changes inside the FTPA that threaten the integrity of future elections.
We are now, right this minute, facing a silent insurrection. When a free country’s laws are usurped, and power is seized from the people and redistributed to politicians and bureaucrats, an insurrection has occurred. There need not be flying bullets. The plans espoused for America by the PL are nothing short of breathtaking. First on their agenda is to bring up the FTPA for a vote. It has been voted down on 3 previous occasions. This time Senator Chuck Schumer, the feckless Senate Majority Leader, has issued a stern warning to Republicans. If they don’t play along and vote to approve the bill he will attempt to remove the 180-200 year old filibuster rule. That rule requires 60 of the 100 Senators to vote for a bill in order for it to pass. The filibuster can force serious compromise before a bill is approved. It also gives the minority the ability to compromise in an effort to make bills better, or to stop what it thinks are bad bills. Schumer has in effect given the Republicans 2 choices. 1. They can commit political suicide by joining the Dems. in approving this horrible bill, or 2. Schumer and the Dems. will murder them by getting rid of the filibuster, and pass it, and numerous other bills without them. I hope they choose option 2, because once the American people know what is in it, they will absolutely hate the FTPA. If the filibuster is busted Dems. plan on getting rid of the Electoral College, which is in the Constitution, and adding at least 4 new Progressive members to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has had 9 members for 150 years. Finally, they intend to add D.C. and Puerto Rico as states. That would give them an additional 4 Senators, making it very difficult for Repubs. to ever gain control of the Senate. Finally, they will push through the FTPA. Repubs. need to stay as far away from this as possible. So let’s take a look at the authoritarian election changes the FTPA will mean for Americans.
The law would federalize national elections. The FTPA will overrule that part of the Constitution that gives the power to state legislatures for deciding the “times, places, and manner of holding elections”. The law as written would require the mass mailing of ballots in every state. It will rework campaign finance law to provide $6 of federal funding for every $1 received by candidates from small donors. It would remove the requirement for voter ID to vote in person, or by absentee ballot. Over 80% of Americans are in favor of requiring a voter ID before voting. Both forms of voting would require only a simple signature, “guaranteeing” the person is who they say they are. It would remove the requirement to provide voter ID when applying for an absentee ballot, and states could no longer require a witness signature, or notarization, when returning ballots. Speaking of absentee ballots, precincts in every state would be required to count ballots received up to 10 days AFTER polls close on election day, if they were postmarked no later than election day. Imagine the opportunity for fraud. Bad actors could contact businesses friendly to their party. Then they pay them to use their postage meters to stamp tens of thousands of absentee ballot envelopes on, or before, election day. They wait until the day after the election to learn the number of votes needed to win. Ballot harvesters knowing who has not yet voted, could fan out and solicit/pay for their votes. Then it is just a trip to the post office and the election is overthrown. I forgot to mention the law requires every state to allow ballot harvesting. How are you feeling about voter integrity now? This is insane.
Maybe these mandates will make you feel better. The bill authorizes the IRS to investigate nonprofits and consider their political and policy positions before granting them tax exempt status. Wow! The bill would require states to allow same day registration, online registration, and it would allow voters to change their registrations as late as election day. FTPA would further require states to automatically register all individuals who appear on any government list. Please note the language. It doesn’t say register all citizens. It says all individuals. With illegals already allowed to vote in multiple U.S. cities, it is pretty clear where this is going. It will force 15 days of early voting, The bill would prevent election officials from verifying the eligibility and qualifications of a person to vote, or to remove ineligible voters. This will make it nearly impossible for nonpartisan groups to verify the accuracy of voter registration rolls. This bill simply must be stopped.
PLs and other Democrats are telling us that those who are against this bill hate America. They say if the bill doesn’t pass it will mean the end of our democracy. Nothing, absolutely nothing, could be farther from the truth. The media, being the loathsome toadies they are, are simply repeating the messages they receive from the Left. After reading this post you probably know more about FTPA than most of them. If this bill passes we will never be able to trust another election. All winners of future elections will have doubt cast on their elections. We have the opportunity, right now to stop that from happening. The House passed its version of the bill last year. It is now in the hands of the Senate. Without the inherent dangers, this is our Paul Revere moment. I urge you to get as many of your friends and associates as possible to read this post. Take it to your churches, service club, tennis club, bowling league, etc. If they agree with its importance I urge you, and them, to send the letter at the bottom of this post, or use it as a template to create your own, to your U.S. Senators (2). It is important that every Senator receive a pile of these letters, or emails if you prefer. To the extent that one, or both, of your Senators are Dems. it is imperative they get buried in them. You can search on your computer for “my U.S. Senators” to find their mailing, and email addresses. Please do it today. This is time sensitive. Thank you, Bob
Suggested letter to Senators
Senator Krupt, We are writing to insist that you vote against bill S-1, the For The People Act. This is an egregious overreach by the federal government. It is not “for the people”. In fact it takes control of our elections away from those of us closest to our elections. We believe that the time, place, and manner of elections should be decided locally. We believe that voters should be required to provide a photo ID to vote, whether in person, or via absentee ballot. We believe votes that are received after the ballot box closes should be not count. We are against being required to have 15 days of early voting. These are but a few of the provisions of this bill that we vehemently oppose. For these and other reasons we are insisting that you vote against this terrible legislation. We are voters, and we will be watching how you vote. Concerned, involved, constituents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Revere
Great information Bob Thank you for all of your hard work and caring enough to inform us! ππΊπ²π God bless and be safe.
