This week’s article is written for those Americans, regardless of political affiliation, who understand what a wonderful place the USA is. It is for those who vote to preserve this special place for future generations first, considering their political Party second. It is meant to persuade those who are still undecided, or unsure of the importance of their vote next month. As a forever Pollyanna, I still believe the majority of Americans fall into this patriotic category. It is NOT written for those Dems. who don’t care who the candidates are and would vote for Jack the Ripper if he had a (D) after his name. I wouldn’t waste a minute trying to change those people’s minds. (No self-respecting bee ever tried to convince a fly that honey is better than a pile of s**t).

I have used the title of this blog with my kids and grandkids, repeatedly. As small children, bad decisions result in small consequences. Writing on the wall with a crayon used to result in a couple of smacks on the backside and being sent to their room. Driving while under the influence, usually results in consequences much more grave. Now that we are old enough to vote and to elect the people who will decide our future, electing the wrong candidates will negatively affect our lives. Perhaps forever.

Trump has just 2 more years to serve as President of this great nation. If we are careless and elect Progressives/Socialists (PS), we will be denying our children and grandchildren the freedom we enjoyed and shackling them with an ever more intrusive government. There is an old saying that says: You can vote yourself into socialism, but you will have to fight your way out of it. So please, think it through. Don’t use your vote to punish Trump. The truth is you will be punishing yourself, your kids, and your country.

Democrats continually call Trump a dictator, or a fascist. Apparently, they don’t know the definition of those terms. Let’s do a quick review. Democrats took control of the government in January of 2021. During the ensuing 4 years we Americans witnessed the closing of our places of worship, and our children were locked out of their schools. Many for more than a year. We “free” Americans were forced to take an untested vaccine or risk the loss of our livelihoods. National banks were “encouraged” by both Biden, and Obama, to avoid doing business with the oil and gas industry, gun manufacturers, and other industries that they didn’t like. Mothers who protested at school board meetings were surveilled by the FBI. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what fascism looks like.

As we move toward this critical midterm election, Dems. are promising to fix all of the nation’s problems. The truth is most of the problems facing our country were caused by them. While Americans were forced to get vaccinated and to stay at home, Dems. allowed something between 8-20 million people to enter our country illegally. They were mostly unvetted and included some of the most dangerous people on earth. The cost of food, healthcare, education, and housing, were out of control and illegals became the responsibility of generous Americans. Drug overdoses reached all-time highs resulting in around 100,000 American deaths per year. They promise to address the affordability issue. What a joke. That is like putting an arsonist in charge of flame throwers. During the Biden administration inflation rose over 20%, averaging a bit more than 5% per year. That is about twice the rate under the Trump administration. The price of everything soared.

If you believe Dems. are the Party of the working people and that is why you’re still not sure how to vote next month, consider the following. Dems. have promised to revoke the bill that makes tips for service people and overtime pay earned by hourly employees nontaxable. All but 2 out of 270 Dem. members of Congress voted AGAINST deporting illegals who had been convicted of assaulting children. In 2025, 206 Dem. members of the House of Representatives voted to allow high school males to enter female locker rooms and to compete on female athletic teams. Many Dem. candidates are calling for the defunding of the police, releasing convicted criminals from prison, and getting rid of ICE. I can’t imagine that many traditional Democrats agree with any of those positions. You need to be very sober about this fact. If you vote Dem. you are voting for candidates who support the above.

We are now less than 3 weeks away from the midterm elections on Nov. 3rd. This is perhaps the most important midterm of our lives. If that is true, a bad decision will more than likely create another steppingstone to converting our country to a socialist state. In many races, both Parties have legitimate candidates vying for various positions. In too many races, that is not the case. It is unfathomable that some of the Dem. candidates for Senate are anywhere near the lead, let alone leading. Angie Nixon in Florida is a socialist calling for all of the policies I mentioned earlier. James Talarico in Texas is a socialist who believes God is nonbinary, there are 6 sexes, and goes missing for days at a time during the last month of the campaign. I would expect socialist Peggy Flanagan to receive the 100,000 Somali votes in Minnesota. As Lt. Governor, for the last 8 years, she has been second in command during a multi-billion dollar fraud in her state. That any clear-thinking Minnesotan, who has funded the fraud with their tax dollars, would vote for her is perplexing. Finally, in my home state of Michigan, we have socialist Abdul El-Sayed. Perhaps because this is my home state, it is by far the most troubling. This guy is off the chart dangerous. He changes his position on key issues, depending on his audience. He is for defunding ICE and the police. He is for opening prison doors and freeing convicted criminals. He campaigned with a Muslim influencer who said that the U.S. deserved the 9/11 terrorist attack. In his recent debate he couldn’t answer the simplest of questions. Which country presents the greatest threat to the U.S., Iran or Israel? Most adults can answer that question without hesitation. We are at war with Iran, while Israel is a steadfast U.S. ally. No patriotic Michigander, other than Muslims, could justify a vote for this socialist lunatic. Yet he is leading by a point in the polls.

Please take the time to research the candidates. It is up to us to know what the candidate for whom we are voting stands for. If we don’t take a stand against the PS while we can, our children may not have the ability to do so. Please be sure to take the time to vote and to be sure that your family and friends do the same. This is no longer your father’s Democrat Party.
