There Are Insurrections(?) And Then, There Are Insurrections!

On this January 6th I thought it appropriate to spend a little time discussing insurrections. I will not discuss the 1/6/2021 riots on this weeks post. If you are interested in my opinion on that topic, you can visit an earlier post titled: Innocent until proven guilty. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines insurrection as: an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government. The Cambridge Dictionary defines insurrection as: an organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country, usually by violence. One needn’t be a legal scholar to read all of the subjectivity in these definitions. Is a school board a “civil authority”? If it is, are parents who protest the mistreatment of their children insurrectionists? Those parents who protested have not been called insurrectionists. Yet! They have been called domestic terrorists. Were the organized BLM and Antifa riots in 2020 insurrections? Both BLM and Antifa advocate for the overthrow of our government. Over 2,000 law enforcers were injured. Many civilians were killed and injured. Buildings were burned and looted. Several police precincts were set ablaze, some of them with personnel inside, barricaded from the outside. Federal buildings were looted and burned as well. The reason that parents mentioned above are called domestic terrorists, while BLM and Antifa are called peaceful protestors, is simple. BLM and Antifa furthered the narrative of the Progressive Left, while the parents threatened it. The media berated concerned parents while encouraging the rioters.

Did the attempt by the Democrats to remove a duly elected President in 2016 fit the definition of insurrection? Do the heads of the FBI, CIA, DOJ, NSA, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, the FISA Court, etc. constitute an organized group of people trying to overthrow the President? There is growing evidence of an orchestrated effort among government, and well connected, insiders to take down Trump. They told lies to the Court and to Congress. They hired detestable people to produce spurious reports. In 2016 opponents of Trump began wire-tapping and attempts to frame him. Also in 2016, members of the FBI decided there was a growing risk that Trump would be elected. So they connived to come up with an “insurance policy” in case he did. In October of 2016 the FBI began a wiretap on a Trump advisor. Before Trump took office he was issued an ominous warning from the Democrat Senate Minority Leader. He warned Trump not to take on the Intelligence Community. He said: “They have six ways from Sunday to get back at you”. His comments proved to be prophetic. Democrats began talking about impeaching Trump the same week he was inaugurated. Just days after Trump’s inauguration a Democrat attorney allegedly announced that a “coup has started” and “impeachment will follow ultimately”. How did he know? In May of 2017 they commissioned a Special Counsel to investigate Trump’s alleged collusion with Russians to produce dirt on Clinton. The Special Counsel was headed by Robert Mueller, a former head of the FBI. He hired 15 or 16 attorneys, 13 or 14 of them Democrats, to do the investigation. During the investigation, Rep. Adam Schiff from California, repeatedly claimed he had hard evidence that proved Trump’s collusion with Russia. Schiff never produced it for the House, or the Mueller investigation. Schiff has shown he is a man of no character. He is a liar. That voters in his district continue to elect him speaks to their character. Two years, and around 30 million dollars later, Mueller reported there was no evidence of collusion. No matter, House Dems were too far into the lie to admit it. In Dec. of 2019 they voted to impeach Trump. Just one of the insurrectionists attempting to overthrow Trump, attorney Kevin Clinesmith, has been charged, convicted, sentenced, and forgiven.

If you are not sure whether the DOJ is biased, ponder the following. In January of 2021, Kevin Clinesmith was found guilty of felony falsifying court documents. The documents he falsified were instrumental in wreaking financial ruin on multiple innocent Americans. This happened at about the same time that some of the 1/6/21 so-called Capitol insurrectionists were being arrested. Mr. Clinesmith was sentenced to 1 year probation, and 400 hours of community service. In September the court that oversees conduct of the D.C. Bar released him from probation with time served. The D.C. Bar restored him as a member in “good standing” even as he was still on probation. There is no evidence that Clinesmith fulfilled his 400 hours of community service. Because he was part of the cabal trying to get rid of Trump his felony was acceptable. Those ruined by his felonious actions were part of the Trump team. That fact reduced them to nothing more than collateral damage. In the fall of 2021 AG Garland ordered FBI agents to surveille parents, who were peacefully protesting at school board meetings, for acts of domestic terrorism. That order has yet to be rescinded. There are accused Capitol insurrectionists, arrested in January of 2021, still sitting in jail who have yet to be charged! Just yesterday, AG Garland threatened that he was casting his net even wider in an effort to catch and prosecute additional culprits. Including those who weren’t even in D.C. These last two groups are guilty of threatening the authority of the Progressive Left. For that they must pay a high price.

I am not a fan of Senator Mitch McConnell. Still, every American who believes in the Constitution, and loves freedom, owes McConnell a debt of gratitude. It is because of his deft handling of the Merrick Garland Supreme Court nomination that we won’t be suffering under Garland’s Progressive Left opinions for the next 20-30 years.

I’ve never done this before but I’m going to close with a bit of a tease. Insurrections don’t have to be violent. Any action that endeavors to change laws, or legal constructs, in an effort to gain power for one group, at the expense of another, qualifies. Right now there are bills titled: The John R. Lewis voting Rights Advancement Act, and the Freedom to Vote Act, that are being supported by the Left. Together they legitimately qualify as a revolt against an established government. Democrats and the media, but I repeat myself, have gone all in for passing this bill. Their predictions of the end of our democracy if these bills fail, are preposterous. Should they pass as written, nobody will recognize the voting process in our country. Voting integrity will be a thing of the past. On my Sunday post I will point out those parts of the bills that threaten the very core of our electoral process.

I hope you found this post interesting and/or informative. If you did please tell your friends. Thank you, Bob

Along with a couple of other draconian changes recommended by the Left, will effectively turn America into a one party country.

I agree with every word in this article. I’m starting to think you’re my slightly older brother from another mother. And although I loved my deceased brother, the depth of your knowledge and insight is unparalleled. I wish I had a magic wand to make you 20-30 years younger so you could run for office and influence the current political climate. I look forward to seeing you this winter and meeting your wife. Right now the community where I live has closed all food service and many activities have been delayed due to an outbreak of COVID, but I expect that will clear up in the next few weeks. My quarantine started on Monday, my rapid test is today and my 1-2 day test is on Sunday so I hope to be out of quarantine by next Tuesday.
