How many times have we said: In America the majority rules? Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but that is no longer true. The American “majority” has, for decades, become increasingly apathetic and lazy. Things have been too good for too long for too many of us. All the while multiple minority groups have recognized our weakness and taken the opportunity to organize, and push their agendas.
Fifty years ago none of the following could have happened in our country. 1. Conservative speakers would not have been denied the right to speak on college campuses. Especially at Berkeley the self proclaimed “bastion of free speech.” It is commonplace today at Berkeley and on campuses all across the country to ban conservative speakers. 2. Cowardly Fortune 500 companies are sending massive checks to the Black Lives Matter organization. This is a group that advertised that its goals included getting rid of the nuclear family, defunding the police, and changing our economic system to Socialism. The fact that none of those goals have visible benefits for corporations is why I used the word cowardly to start this bullet point. Real leaders like Jack Welch at GE would have ignored them entirely. 3. Speaking of defunding the police. No politician, or group, would have dared to utter those words 50 years ago. The vast majority of citizens, citizens of all races, are against defunding the police. In fact they want MORE policing in their neighborhoods. 4. Who would have thought we would allow our schools, and teachers, to instruct our children differently based on the color of their skin? Critical Race Theory wouldn’t have lasted a nanosecond in the years following the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The harm it is causing to children of every race is disgusting. The good thing about this issue is that we are seeing what can happen when the majority decides to push back. Parents are getting laws passed, and directing school boards to stop this craziness. It is happening because parents are uniting to ensure the well-being of their children. 5. District Attorneys (DAs), and city commissions all over the country have created a revolving door for criminals. DAs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago, etc. have declared they won’t prosecute certain crimes in their cities. Shoplifters, for instance, are not prosecuted in La or SF if they steal less than $1,000 of goods. So it is common to see thieves in stores with calculators keeping track of what they have stolen. What of the people who own the stores? Elected representatives care more about criminals than they do about the innocent victims. City commissions have passed no cash bail laws. These laws literally allow people arrested for committing crimes to be back on the street within 24 to 48 hours. These are but a couple of reasons that violent crimes are rising at an unprecedented rate in our larger cities. 6. I refuse to believe that parents care less today about the safety of their children, especially their daughters, than they did 50 years ago. Their lack of action on a critical safety issue today would hint that is the case. A very small percent of Americans are trying to make it possible for boys who identify as girls to participate on girls athletic teams. They are also insisting that boys be allowed to use girls locker and shower facilities. They are also asking that girls who identify as boys be allowed to use boys locker room and shower facilities, and participate on boys athletic teams. One needn’t have any special training to understand the potential for harm in either of these situations. Only recently have parents decided to push back on this insanity. We must go online to find out who these parents are and shower them in letters and emails showing our support. We must also contact our elected representatives, both state and federal, demanding legislative action to stop this nonsense. 7. It is time for all freedom loving Americans to demand that we get back to somewhat normal lives. Who could believe that 18 months after COVID lockdowns began we would still be following the dictatorial edicts of elected, and unelected, representatives? Too many of our kids are being harmed, I pray not irreparably, by not being in school. Others by being forced to wear masks all day long if they are in school. We witness muggers, looters, and rioters, walking free while people who keep their businesses open in an effort to save their livelihood are locked up for days. This is happening in the U.S.A.? We watch as patients needing organ transplants are removed from lists if they have not been vaccinated. For some that will be a death sentence. We saw a judge take a child away from a mother because she wasn’t vaccinated. Demanding proof of vaccination to go into restaurants is not racist. Demanding voter ID is? Free people should not allow this level of bullying from their government. 8. The last issue has never been more important than it is right now. We have allowed our government to twist itself all out of shape. Lazy, feckless, self serving, elected representatives have chosen to disregard, or expand their responsibility to serve themselves. Our Constitution clearly states that the writing of our laws is the sole responsibility of Congress. Yet for well over 10 years the POTUS has written stacks of executive orders (EOs) taking the place of legislation. This is because members of Congress have turned into spineless jellyfish. If they had an ounce of courage, or integrity, they would scream bloody murder when presidents usurped their authority. Quite the opposite. President Obama, during a State of the Union address said if Congress didn’t act to pass legislation he wanted he had a pen and a phone and he wouldn’t hesitate to use them. He was of course hinting he would write EOs. A legitimate Congress would have booed him out of the building. Not these losers. The democratic side of the aisle cheered. You see if the POTUS wrote EOs, members of Congress couldn’t be held accountable by their constituents if those EOs proved to be unpopular. While POTUS’ have been busy doing the job of the legislature they have ignored their own job. The POTUS represents the Executive Branch of our government. That is, it is their job to execute the laws passed by the legislature. The Constitution doesn’t suggest that POTUS should execute only the laws they agree with or the ones they like. For decades the POTUS has been tough on the laws they agree with while ignoring those he doesn’t like. It is time for us to start holding our elected representatives feet to the fire. We must know how they vote. When a representative votes against the wishes of their constituents we must vote them out of office. All of the previous 7 items mentioned above are occurring because our elected representatives have let us down. They are afraid of a vocal, well organized, nasty, minority. If you read one of my earlier blogs you know that I am advocating for term limits. We don’t have time to go through the whole amendment process. They’d never go for it anyway. I’m suggesting that we simply look at the number of years members of Congress have served. If it is 12 or more years we must replace them. We can start by finding quality candidates to run against the incumbents in primaries. Then we must give them our total support. We can do this if we unite together.
There is no reason to think that minority groups mentioned above will stop what they are doing any time soon. They will continue to push their ridiculous agendas until, or unless, the majority pushes back and says firmly, NO MORE! We have the numbers to put an immediate stop to all of this socialist nonsense. All that is lacking is the will to stand together and say, NO MORE!
