“We Are Not Going Back.” V.P. Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris has used the campaign slogan, “We are not going back”, in every appearance I have seen her make over the last few weeks. It set me to thinking. What is it she doesn’t want to go back to? There are a number of changes the Biden/Harris team made since they took office in 2021. I think it is fair to imagine that Kamala would not want to revert to the days before she and Biden made those changes. So, let’s take a look at some of the things that Kamala might want to avoid. Interestingly, they are mostly things that you and I would happily embrace. 1. Kamala has done exactly nothing to slow, let alone stop, the flow of illegal aliens into our country. Along with the approximately 800,000 people per month entering our country, comes illegal drugs. In 2022, over 110,000 Americans died of opioid overdoses, 77,000 of them from fentanyl. We know that the majority of these opioids are sourced in China and smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico. The absolute worst part of this tsunami of illegals is what is happening to immigrant children. The Biden/Harris team has literally LOST 320,000 unaccompanied children after they crossed our border. Still, the Biden/Harris administration turns a blind eye. Kamala does not want to go back to the days when our border was secure, when opioids weren’t killing a number of Americans every year equal to the population of Lansing, MI., or when those 320,000 lost children were being cared for by their parents in their home countries. I think most Americans would like to go back there. 2. Perhaps Kamala is troubled by the peace that existed before she and Joe took office. She seems incapable of understanding the groundwork that went into creating that peace. For decades, U.S. Presidents have named Iran the leading global funder of terrorism. Instead of shaking a scolding finger at the Mullahs, Trump put in place an embargo that kept the Iranians from selling and exporting their oil. When Biden/Harris took office, Iran had less than $10 billion in cash reserves. That was barely enough to operate their country, let alone fund terrorism. The Biden/Harris team immediately stopped enforcing the Trump embargo. Today, thanks to the revenue from oil sales, Iran has a reserve balance around $100 billion. Magically, Hamas had the funds to invade Israel, murdering thousands of innocent Israeli citizens. Hezbollah is launching missiles into Israel. The Houthis have been targeting American, and other country’s, warships in the Red Sea for months. All 3 of these terrorist groups were silent when Iran was bankrupt. Before Trump left office his administration oversaw the signing of the Abraham Accords. It was unimaginable that Israel and 3 Arab countries, traditional Israeli enemies, could come together in such a way. But they did. With 2 wars now raging around the world, it seems that Kamala does not want to go back to those peaceful days. I rather enjoyed not seeing millions of people die and hundreds of billions of our tax dollars going to fund wars. Yeah, let’s go back to that. (As an aside, Russia invaded Crimea when Obama was President and then Ukraine since Biden took over as President. I’m sure it is pure coincidence that Russia was silent when Trump was President). 3. It seems hypocritical that Kamala is in favor of removing opportunities and the safe spaces of our school age girls. She professes to be the champion of women. Yet, she wants to allow boys/men into girl’s/women’s bathrooms and locker rooms. She would promote males to replace females on athletic teams designated for females. This not only endangers female participants safety, it also reverses the decades of work it took to pass Title IX, which finally ensured a level playing field for females. While faux feminists have remained silent on this important issue, real feminists have been outspoken against males appearing in female spaces. Kamala doesn’t want to go back to the days when girls could undress and dress only in the company of other girls. She doesn’t care that boys will replace girls on athletic teams designated for girls. She won’t go back. If we care about the privacy and safety of our daughters and granddaughters, we must demand to go back. 4. Many of the Biden/Harris policies have either led to, or exacerbated, the increase in inflation and interest rates. When they took office, the U.S. was a net exporter of gas and oil. We were energy self-sufficient. Biden/Harris shut down production of the Keystone XL pipeline and froze the issuance of new drilling permits on federal land. That, along with other mitigating factors, caused a barrel of crude oil to rise to over $120 a barrel. That increase gave Russia the revenue it needed to invade Ukraine. It also caused the price of gasoline and diesel fuel to skyrocket. Gasoline prices peaked at just over $5 per gallon, and for the first time in U.S. history, the average price of a gallon of gasoline was at least $5 in all 50 states. Farmers use diesel to work their fields and truck drivers use diesel to deliver the vast majority of products we buy at the store. One needn’t be an MIT economist to predict how the price dominos would react. Oil is the derivative of the fertilizers that farmers use to grow crops. When fertilizers doubled in price, coupled with sky high cost of diesel fuel, food prices went through the roof. There are thousands of products we use every day that are also derived from crude oil. I needn’t tell you what happened to their prices. Kamala promises to lower prices if she is elected. But before you can fix a problem you must first understand what caused the problem. She has no clue. The number one cause of inflation, thus higher prices, is government spending. Price gouging has had little to do with higher prices. (Is price gouging a new phenomenon since Biden/Harris took office)? Yet she will start another government agency, that will be inflationary, to monitor prices and punish anyone whom they deem guilty of gouging. She will give $25,000 to first time home buyers. That will stoke demand which will force prices higher. Regardless of her promises to lower prices, there are no easy, short-term, fixes to the economic mess that Biden/Harris has delivered to the American people. Kamala will never entertain the thought of expanding the use of readily available, inexpensive, fossil fuels. Her economic plans, at least those she has minimally articulated, are inflationary because they all require bigger government and more government spending. She doesn’t want to go back to $2 gasoline, 3% mortgage interest rates, or affordable groceries and utility rates that every American can afford. To implement her socialist agenda, she needs as many Americans as possible to be dependent on the government.

One of the most difficult things for a true patriot to accept is that a fellow American, one who is attempting to lead the nation, would purposefully work against the well-being of the people of their country. Believe it. If Kamala is elected, we are not going back to $2 gas, mortgage rates of 3%, a secure border, relative calm in our cities, being energy self-sufficient, or being able to decide which products we prefer to buy. She will continue to push for the government to infiltrate our daily lives.

The decision we have in November has never been clearer. If you believe you are capable of deciding how to spend what is left of your after-tax paycheck you must vote for Republicans. If you believe the government will do a better job of making your decisions for you, and you are willing to forfeit an ever larger portion of your paycheck to the government, you should vote for Democrats. It is really no more complicated than that. If you think my thoughts have merit, please share them with your family and friends. Bob

      Conny,
Only those who have lived in a socialist state can fully grasp the depravity that socialism is. Those pushing this agenda have told us, “You will own nothing, and you will be happy”. When the state controls production, distribution, and consumption, the people are truly pawns. We must do whatever we can to inform the uninformed. If Harris is elected that may be the final nail in the coffin for our children and grandchildren’s future. It is the only reason I spend 8+ hours a week producing this blog. Bob
