I am a 74-year-old patriotic American. Every day I thank God for allowing me to be born in the greatest nation on earth. For 52 years I have been married to the most beautiful woman I have ever met. We have 3 wonderful, successful, children who are married to 3 equally wonderful, successful, spouses. Those 3 marriages have given us 8 beautiful and talented grandchildren. I tell you this so that you might better understand why I am so passionate about doing everything I can to preserve the freedoms of our country for my progeny. Writing this blog, giving public presentations, and being active on FB, allows me a platform to do that.

This blog challenges each of us to forget whether we are Democrats (D), Republicans (R), or Independents (I), and remember that we are all Americans (A). It challenges us to ignore media pundits, and candidates, and just use our own common sense, our own deductive reasoning. We must ask ourselves a few questions. Candidates and pundits are forever trying to massage the answers to these questions, but we know the truth because we live them every day. The freedoms that we have each enjoyed have been eroding over the past few years. Answers to the following questions, and who we choose to represent us will decide if we keep our God given freedoms.

The most important question we must answer is: Are we better off today than we were 4 years ago? The price of the products we use every day, gasoline, milk, bread, ground beef, eggs, etc., are up from 10 to 100% since Biden/Harris took office. Many elderly people, and others on fixed incomes, are being forced to choose whether to cut back on their meds, or their quantity/quality of food. Whether that has negatively impacted our families is a question only we can answer. But we do need to answer it.

Are we safer today than we were 4 years ago? It is estimated there are now something north of 10 million illegal aliens in the U.S. since Biden/Harris took office. The majority of those people mean no harm to the American people. (They still cost American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars to house, clothe, feed, and educate. Huge numbers of them show up at emergency rooms, delaying the care of citizens). There is a large number of them who are connected to vicious gangs. These people are here for no other reason than to rape, murder, and create havoc on peaceful Americans. Their entry into the U.S. has occurred over the last 4 years. Thanks to Biden/Harris bussing and flying illegals, every state is now a border state. Check out Aurora, CO. and Springfield, OH. The number one responsibility of our elected representatives is to protect us. How are they doing?

Over the last 4 years, Biden/Harris policies have failed the American people at nearly every turn. With few successes to talk about on the campaign trail, Kamala Harris has had to resort to scare tactics. She continues to warn that Donald Trump is a real threat to our Democracy. (The form of government we live under is NOT a Democracy). Because actions speak louder than words, I think it is important to discuss which party has shown to be the greatest threat to the future of our Democracy. Joe Biden, through the primary process, had received enough votes from the PEOPLE to represent Dems this November. Leadership of the Democrat Party decided they knew better than the people. They chose to remove a duly elected, sitting President, from the 2024 Presidential ticket. Then, as if to stick their thumb in the eyes of Democrat voters, they chose Kamala Harris as their candidate. Remember that Harris was the first candidate to leave the 2020 primary campaign. She did so without winning even a single delegate! That is the exact opposite of democratic.

Obama/Biden, then Biden/Harris, worked feverishly to get left-leaning social media outlets to censor conservative comments. While we suspected it, we had no proof this was going on until Elon Musk bought Twitter and provided the evidence. He produced scores of incidents of such censorship. One important case was when Hunter Biden’s laptop was found holding incriminating material. The administration immediately told social media it was Russian disinformation. So, the entire incident was quashed. How does that have anything to do with subverting Democracy? In polls following the 2020 election, 16% of those who voted for Biden said they would not have had they been aware of the story. Nearly 30% said they may have changed their vote had they known. It is against the law for the government to censor the people. In this case their censorship changed an election, and almost certainly the future of our country. That was a direct attack on our Republic.

When the Supreme Court ruled that Biden/Harris lacked the authority to wipe out billions of dollars of student loans, our money, they summarily ignored the ruling. How democratic is it for the Dept. of Justice to declare that parents who show up at school board meetings to protect their children are deemed to be potential domestic terrorists and assigned FBI agents to surveil them? Is it democratic for the government to remove patents from companies that don’t follow government dictates? Kamala Harris says it is and that she might snatch their patents so that the government can take over. There is nothing democratic about that. In fact, it is Socialism. We must think of things like this before deciding for whom we’ll vote.

In a move that should have terrified every freedom loving American, regardless of political affiliation, in May of 2022 the Biden/Harris administration, under the auspices of the DHS, put in place something called the Disinformation Governance Board. It was charged with monitoring department activities concerning disinformation aimed at the American people. All decisions as to whether an issue was disinformation would be made by its Chair, who was appointed by the government. A few days later it was disbanded. That our leaders could imagine something like this being acceptable to a free people is unthinkable. Few things scream Socialism more than this committee.

Kamala Harris has a plan to reduce grocery prices. Gaining control of how our food is produced and distributed is critical for Socialists to rule our lives. It is nothing short of silly, but we must understand that their ultimate goal is to take control of every aspect of society. Her plan is to punish grocers and farmers for price gouging. We might shake our heads approvingly as we think how shameful price gouging is. Before we get angry at our grocer, we need to remember that the average profit of grocery chains is between 1 and 2%. Think of it this way. On the $100 basket of groceries we bought in 2020 the grocery store made a profit of $2.00. For the same basket of groceries today we pay $140, the grocery store earns a profit of $2.80. Do we really believe that is the problem? The real cause of inflation is shutting down pipelines and reducing permits to drill for oil and gas on public land. Inflation is caused when the government prints and borrows too much money. Each of the plans Kamala has proposed, $50,000 for every new business, $25,000 for first time home buyers, continued student loan forgiveness, and $6,000 for the birth of a new child is wildly inflationary. (Real gouging comes in the form of the sales tax we pay for the groceries. In Michigan the $100 basket of groceries cost us $6.00 in sales taxes in 2020. In 2024 that same basket costs us $8.40 is sales taxes. The government didn’t do a single thing to earn that $8.40. Now that’s gouging).

What is democratic about the government mandating the kind of toilets, light bulbs, and automobiles, we must purchase? If you claim to defend Democracy you don’t tell people what kind of stove they must put in their new home. You don’t force people to buy something they don’t want. Kamala Harris believes those decisions belong to the government. Do you?

Ladies, this next question is for you to ask/answer. Would you have been comfortable undressing and dressing with boys in your locker room? Do you think your daughters/granddaughters should be required to do so today? Would you have felt safe lining up across the volleyball net from a boy who might be 6″ taller and outweigh you by 40 pounds? Our girls/women have the right to privacy and to feel safe when competing. Kamala Harris is in favor of boys in girl’s bathrooms and locker rooms. She thinks it is fair to allow boys to compete beside and against girls on girl’s athletic teams. Our girls have no power on these issues. They depend on us to protect them.

Kamala Harris has called for reducing the budget of ICE. Being a politician she is too smart to come out and say she is in favor of defunding the police. She says instead; It is time for us to reimagine the way we police our cities. Her support of no cash bail creates a revolving door for criminals. In one day, out the next. This makes for more work for law enforcement officers and increases their chances of being injured or killed. If we are to ask brave men and women to keep us safe in our daily lives, we must totally, unequivocally, support their efforts. Harris believes less policing and more social workers will make for safer cities. Is that reasonable?

Kamala supports providing sex change operations for federal prisoners AND for illegal immigrants. All at the expense of the American taxpayer. She has also said that as President, she would sign a reparations bill if it got to her desk. Are we in agreement with these policies?

The time is fast approaching when we will be tasked with deciding the direction of our country for a long time to come. I ask once again that you remove your affinity for the D, the R, and the I. I ask that you put the A front and center when deciding how to vote in November. I don’t believe that a true patriot can hate a person more than they love their country. As a father and grandfather, I refuse to believe the hate for that person can supersede the future freedom and well-being of their children and grandchildren. If you can’t vote for Trump, so be it. But please, don’t diminish the future of the ones you love by advancing the cause of Socialism. That is what a vote for Kamala Harris will mean.
