I have to admit that when Trump makes one of his boneheaded comments, he causes me to shake my head. But as I prepare to vote, I always revert back to being a patriotic adult and do a quick comparison between the Trump presidency and that of Biden/Harris. What follows are a few such comparisons.
Kamala Harris is a born and bred California Progressive. She has cut her political teeth believing deeply in putting more and more regulations and ever higher taxes on small businesses, the engine that drives our Capitalist system. She truly believes that the government will make better decisions with OUR money than we will. Therefore, she will take more of our money from us and hand it over to unelected bureaucrats. She has said as much in her recent comments. She is in favor of defunding the police, a government buyback of firearms, and building an ever larger federal government. She is squarely in that group of globalists who plan to see that “you will own nothing, and you will be happy.” Trump is a true Capitalist.
When Trump left office, 30-year mortgage rates were just under 3% and people could afford to buy houses. Today, those mortgage rates hover around 7% and many/most first-time home buyers are shut out of the market. The national average for a gallon of regular gas was $2.19. At the end of August of this year, we were paying $3.36 (up 53%) a gallon. On a national average, in January of 2021, a gallon of milk cost $3.46, a loaf of bread cost $1.53, a pound of ground beef cost $3.96, and a dozen eggs cost $1.46. As of July of this year, they cost $3.98, (up 15%), $1.97, (up 20+%), $5.50, (up 36%) and $3.08, (up 111%), respectively. Kamala plans to attack these out-of-control prices by taxing grocery chains (and other corporations) and fining those people in the grocery business found guilty of price gouging. For information purposes, grocery chains earn something under 2% in net profits a year. I am not surprised when the uninitiated cheer such nonsense. I could never vote for a person who proposes such rubbish. To buy this idiocy we’d have to believe that price gouging just started when Biden/Harris took office! It is the ill-advised ruinous policies put forth by the Biden/Harris administration that has put the elderly, and others on fixed income, in dangerous situations. Do they cut back on their meds, or on the quality of their food? What Biden/Harris have done to the poorest 50% of our population is a national disgrace.
Rising prices, while very important, are not as immediately critical as the lack of personal safety. For many American families it has become a matter of life and death. In March of 2021, President Biden charged V.P. Harris with leading the efforts to stem the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S.-Mexico border. Since being put in charge of the border, Kamala Harris’ lack of action has been directly responsible for the murders, rapes, assaults, and general terrorizing, of too many Americans in too many American cities. The number of illegal crossings has increased almost monthly since her appointment. She has personally visited the border ONCE! Then, at a location far removed from where the crossings were occurring. It wasn’t until just a few months ago that she admitted there was a problem, and only since she became a presidential candidate that she called it a crisis. She has continued to lie to the American people since her promotion as the “Border Czar”.
I’ll close with another situation concerning life and death. When Biden/Harris took office in January of 2021, Americans were involved in zero wars. There are now 2. It is impossible to know how many people have died in those wars, many of them innocents. We do know that hundreds of billions of our tax dollars have been spent to support combatants and helpless civilians. Thanks to Trump’s oil and gas drilling policies the price of oil had dropped to around $50 per barrel by December of 2020. At those prices Putin couldn’t afford a sustained war in Ukraine. By June of 2021 thanks to Biden/Harris energy policies the price of a barrel of oil shot up to about $85, peaking at $123 a barrel, in May of 2022. That created hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars in profits coming from Russia’s #1 export. That, along with the fact that Putin had no fear that Biden/Harris would respond, gave him the courage to invade Ukraine. When Trump left office, thanks to the stiff sanctions he had put on the sale of their oil, Iranians had fewer than $10 billion dollars in reserves. They could barely afford to run their own country, let alone fund terrorism around the world. In a little over 2 years after Biden/Harris stopped enforcing those sanctions, the Iranians sold enough oil to build their cash reserves up to just under $100 billion. That allowed them to fund the Hamas attack on Israel. Earlier this week, terrorists ruthlessly executed 6 hostages, one of them an American citizen. Aside from a couple of passing comments, Harris has yet to address that heinous act. Biden said only that Netanyahu hasn’t done enough to hasten the release of hostages. I’ll waste no more than the following sentence in comparing those muted responses with: How do you think Trump would have responded?
There is a reason that a growing number of life-long Democrat leaders are fleeing to the Republican Party. They recognize that the Progressive Left Socialists have hijacked their Party. Many of them no longer recognize it. Just imagine how difficult it must have been for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to drop out of the race and endorse Donald Trump. His patriotism trumped his ideology. He did what he did because he loves his country more than his political Party. More and more we are hearing the old saw, I’m not leaving the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party has left me.
I’ll close by saying it is disingenuous for a person who hates one person more than he loves his country to call himself a patriot. I find it unfathomable that a person could hate another person, someone he has never met, more than he cares about the future of his children and grandchildren. Kamala Harris is not the duly ELECTED representative of the Democrat Party. She does not represent the values of “traditional Liberals”. She is the coronated appointee of the Progressive Socialists. If you are one of the people I have consistently applauded as a traditional Liberal, I implore you to search the evidence, and your heart, before you finish your ballot. Don’t listen to what Harris says she will do. Look at what she has done. If we want our children and grandchildren to enjoy the freedoms that we have enjoyed, follow the lead of RFK Jr. and vote for the only person committed to working toward that end. Vote Trump. If you can’t find it within you to vote for him, you have a second option. Don’t vote for the candidate who is only concerned with gaining control over our lives for the elites in her party. Don’t vote for Harris. This is an incredibly consequential election. Throw away the Ds and the Rs., and vote for what you know is right.
(As an aside, don’t be surprised if Harris comes down with a case of COVID, or Cold Feet, etc. between now and the debate next Tuesday. She’s not very smart, but she surely knows she is no match for Trump on the debate stage).
Thank you for reading another of my blogs. If you find it interesting, and/or informative, please tell your family and friends. Early voting begins in a couple of weeks. Time is of the essence. Bob
Remember that each person has a choice. The sad part is the only two choices are distasteful, for different reasons you already know. Vote for America, not socialism.
Frank,
Yes, everyone has a choice. Sadly, not enough of us take the time to properly research those choices. Even sadder, neither offers a decidedly ‘good’ choice. The idea behind my posts is to make the point that, while neither is ‘good’, one of them represents the likelihood of forever changing the greatest nation on earth into something that few of us want. Something from which we may, or may not, be able to recover. Thaks for your comments, Bob
Hit the nail on the head again 🔨
Conny,
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my writing. It takes me about 8 hours, from beginning to end, to complete each post. It is gratifying to know that someone is reading them. Bob
Bob, I am so tired of hearing what anyone will do or not do for the wealthy and lower middle class. I want to hear more what anyone will do for me and people that fall into my category. A 60 year old woman who makes a decent living, but I pay for my own health care , I can not get any kind of help if need because of my hard work I have a bit of a savings. I feel my “class” as it maybe called is the one taking the brunt of everyone else’s breaks. BTW Bob I enjoy your blogs..
Susan,
I understand what you are saying. It is frustrating to me that most of the problems that Americans are facing could be fixed without a great deal of effort. It only needs a little cooperation from the leaders of both political partys. I am nearing completion of my second book. It is titled Republicans are red, Democrats are blue, the leaders of neither give a damn about you. The title says it all. By the way, thanks for the kind comment and for reading my blog. Bob
