Numerous Republican Candidates Have Zero Political Experience. How Can They Be Competitive?

Say you’re John Fetterman the current Lt. Governor in PA. You win your primary by a landslide, in spite of suffering a serious stroke a few weeks earlier. You have name recognition, a fawning press/media (PM), and your opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, has zero political experience. Polling starts with you ahead by serious double digits. Oz has since pulled even. This is a similar scenario that Democrat candidates are facing all over the country. Secretary of State Katie Hobbs learned that she would be facing television news anchor, Kari Lake, in her quest to become the Governor of Arizona. The race started with Hobbs leading by big double digits in the polls. She is now trailing. Democrat Tim Ryan has been a U.S. House member in Ohio since 2003. He is an incumbent with a huge advantage in name recognition. He could hardly hide his excitement when he learned that his opponent in the race for the U.S. Senate would be author, attorney, and political rookie, J.D. Vance. Vance won a hard fought primary to become Ryan’s Republican opponent. Early polling suggested Vance didn’t have a prayer. He now has a slight lead. Then there is Blake Masters in Arizona, Hershel Walker in Georgia, and Tiffany Smiley in Washington State. All are vying for a seat in the U.S. Senate. None have any political experience. Democrat incumbents are also struggling in New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, Washington St., Oregon, Nevada, and my home state of Michigan. Go Tudor Dixon.

It is unusual that so many of these scenarios are occurring at one time. Typically the power of incumbency is too much for neophytes to overcome. Traditionally, over 90% of incumbents are reelected. This year it may be different. That may because challengers don’t seem to be frightened by the glitz of the campaign trail. They aren’t allowing the attack dog PM to repeat and then promote the Democrat’s narrative. The challengers are demanding to be heard. They are calling out the incumbents.

In a normal election year incumbents would be seen all over the PM. They would be on TV, bullying challengers to as many debates as the PM would agree to televise. They would be bragging about the wonderful job they were doing for their constituents. Their opponents political inexperience would be harped on as yet another reason to reelect Senator Krupt in a barrage of TV ads. Why is this midterm shaping up to be something the likes of which we have never seen? Is it because incumbent Democrats literally have nothing to brag about?

Every issue that is important to the American people is worse today than when people went to the polls in 2020. That is when the American people elected a Democratic President and provided him with a majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Democrats control ALL of the levers of power in our government. How excited would you be to engage in a debate when your opponent is fully aware of the following: 1. Gasoline has risen from $2.25 per gallon in January of 2020 to about $4.00 a gallon today. 2. Nearly everything we like to buy is significantly more expensive. More importantly, many of the things we have to buy, milk, bread, eggs, hamburger, etc., have doubled in price. 3. Inflation was at 1.23% in January of 2020. It is a little above 8% today. 4. When you financed a house in 2020 the interest rate on a 30 year fixed mortgage was 3.7%. Today it is just under 7%. If you financed a $100,000 house in 2020 you would be paying about $300 a month in interest. The interest you would be paying on that same house at 7% would be just under $600 a month. 5. The number of illegal aliens who we know are entering the country today is nearly triple what it was in 2020. I don’t even want to think about the approximately 1 million who got away. 6. In 2020 we produced all of the oil and gas we needed right here in the U.S. Thanks to Democrats we are reduced to watching our President beg authoritarians in Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and until a few months ago, Russia, to produce the energy that they cancelled once they took office. 7. Democrats approved trillions of taxpayer funded giveaways since being elected in 2020. (Which is the #1 reason for inflation and higher prices). They are now trying to explain what happened to something between $600 billion and $1 trillion dollars. How could that much money simply disappear? They respond with their best imitation of Sgt. Schultz from the 1960’s Hogan’s Heroes sitcom. They walk around with a permanent shrug saying “I know nothing”. 8. The crime wave that is occurring in Democrat led cities is out of control. We are no longer safe to go out in many cities, or even in our own homes. Criminals are caught committing crimes and released back into our communities within hours. All of a sudden victims have fewer rights than criminals. 9. Democrats have stood idly by while over 107,000 Americans have died due to opioid overdoses. Over 70% of which are Fentanyl related. The opioids are pouring over our southern border. It is the #1 cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45.

After reading the above partial list of Democrat failings, does it surprise you that the only candidates aggressively asking for debates are the challengers? In fact, many incumbents are doing the Muhammed Ali “rope a dope” in an effort to not do debates at all. Voters have a right to know for what a candidate stands for, and against. Any candidate who refuses to do multiple debates does not deserve to be considered legitimate by voters. It is difficult for me to understand how any voter, other than the ideologically blind, could vote to reelect people who have hurt the American people.

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you found it interesting and informative. Please share it with your friends, especially those who are still undecided. Thank you, Bob

Here in Michigan the Attorney General refused to debate and also the Secretary of State. They are both afraid to defend their actions

Yes demon RATS 🐀 are ruining the country county by county and state by state. Trump endorsement and rallies that show why they will fight for people. Citizens should have positions in government not politicians. Demon rats 🐀 have changed election laws illegally and forced lockdowns and ruined the economy. They have let criminals roam free. No bail. No sentences. Demon rats 🐀 have opened up the border and failed to protect citizens. They gave shelter to illegal aliens but not homeless people. People are sick and tired of this. Now they see and hear about people like trump that want to stop crime stop inflation. Energy needs to be improved in Alaska and other states. People are pissed that Biden shut down energy independence and now prices are too high. Easy choice to pick people that want energy independence tough on crime. End the border crossing enforce the law.

      Gregory,
Given the terrible failings of democrats over the last 2 years, if the American people don’t produce a red wave, it may be too late to save our Republic. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog.

Kari Lake has 20 years experience with Arizona politicians and Arizona concerns. She can’t be bought like other people. Hopefully other candidates are the same that trump endorsed. Trump has given them a platform to educate the people about the facts. Most people never learn about politics and most politicians lie and make fake election promises.

      Gregory,
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. Kari Lake is fast becoming one of my favorite politicians. Her background is perfect for the job of Governor.
She is straightforward, smart, brash, and it appears that she is pretty honest. I think Hobbs was smart not to debate her. A debate would have been embarrassing.
