When I posted last week’s blog, I thought it would be the last time I would mention Joe Biden. Then, just hours before Trump’s inauguration, he set a new low for sleaze by pre-emptively pardoning (is that even a thing?) Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and everyone involved in the January 6 hearings. Then, literally minutes before his presidency ended, he pre-emptively pardoned several of his family members, including brothers James and Frank, sister Valerie, and their respective spouses. It is interesting that he backdated the pardons to 2014. That is about the time that President Obama told Fauci to scrap his dangerous gain of function experiments. Did Fauci ignore the order? It is about the time that his son was receiving large amounts of money from Ukraine, Russia, and China. Maybe those are coincidences. In December of 2020 Biden warned outgoing President Trump against pre-emptive pardons for his adult children and Rudy Giuliani. He told CNN that: “It concerns me in terms of what kind of precedent it sets and how the rest of the world looks at us as a nation of laws and justice.” The precedent that Biden just sat should frighten every American, regardless of political affiliation.
I’m not one to get all excited about political proclamations. I believe the USA turned a page and started an exciting new chapter with the election of Donald Trump. In November we took the first step in the long slog toward returning our country to its former greatness. Whether it is a new “golden age” or “liberty day” is yet to be seen. I have never been able to grasp how sayings like Make America Great Again, or America First, can conjure up such hate among Americans. What I am sure of is that Trump has already started the ball rolling toward completing many of the promises he made on the campaign trail. Promises that were the reasons so many people from nontraditional Republican voting blocs voted for him. He has charged his nominees to ask three questions before making decisions. Will it make us stronger? Will it make us safer? Will it make us more prosperous? If they can’t answer yes to at least one of those questions they are to opt against it. We are again on the right track.
Immigration
Effective immediately, our borders are officially closed to those who wish to enter illegally! Members of the U.S. Armed Forces will be aiding immigration and border enforcement officers on our southern border. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers will begin to arrest and deport illegal immigrants with a criminal record, those deemed to be threats to national security, and those who have had their request for asylum denied by a Court but have not left our country. When Trump announced his plans to institute this EO, many blue state Governors and Mayors stood defiant against it. (It is a real head scratcher that elected leaders would put the safety of their citizens at risk to protect criminal illegals. Some of them are having second thoughts). Tens of thousands of Americans are dying of opioid overdoses every year. Trump has officially, if belatedly, named the Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Mexico and Canada have been told they will face 25% tariffs if they don’t actively aid us in our efforts to shut down the steady flow of illegals and deadly drugs.
Energy
Trump withdrew us from the Paris Accord. Hooray! It was nothing but a toothless, monstrous, climate change boondoggle. The U.S. was the only country that came close to the “mandated” reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. That was after Trump removed us the first time. He is rescinding Biden’s government mandates requiring the purchase of EVs. We will no longer be forced to purchase appliances chosen by the government. He has reopened drilling in Alaska and restored suspended fossil fuel leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, as well as on other public owned land. He is requiring all agencies to report within 30 days to the White House Office of Management and Budget any regulations and rules deemed burdensome to the production and consumption of energy. He is doing everything he can to help us become energy dominant again. All that is needed to take full advantage of our God given natural resources is that we “drill baby drill!”
Common Sense
Ten years ago, it was unthinkable that a President of the U.S. would have to sign an EO proclaiming there are only 2 sexes: male and female. One of Trump’s earliest EOs was to make that declaration. He then banned males from female’s bathrooms and locker rooms. It also precludes males from participating on school athletic teams designated for females. Finally, we have a leader who understands the inherent advantage males have in competition against females. He understands the potential for serious injury when females are forced to compete against bigger, faster, and stronger, males. Like Mufasa in the “Lion King” he has the courage to push back against a small, well-funded, well organized, and obnoxious, sect. The hyenas who have stood feebly by and allowed this to continue should be totally ashamed. Male inmates, who identify as females, will no longer be allowed to transfer to female prisons. To right-minded people, the above is just plain common sense.
Government
If you are a federal government employee, Trump is officially informing you that the COVID pandemic is over. In fact, it has been over for years! The gig is up. Starting now, if you want to continue receiving a paycheck, you must report to the office. You think that is unfair? Well, it is inconceivable to we taxpayers that you have been paid for 4 years to stay home. As of 5:00 PM today, Trump has ended Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, anywhere it exists in the federal government. Going forward, hiring and promotions will be determined by merit, not by sex or the color of your skin. In a military that has not achieved its recruitment goals for years, Trump has offered to rehire, with back pay, anyone who left the Armed Forces because they refused to take the COVID vaccine. He has officially announced the formation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Elon Musk as its Director. Every department head is instructed to form an internal 4-person DOGE team to work directly with Musk. Directors have been charged with making those decisions that have the effect of reducing costs for the American people.
I don’t pretend to know when Trump’s policies will result in lower grocery prices, or gas prices. Will it be a month? Six months? I don’t know. But I am certain, if the law of supply and demand still applies, we will see lower prices. When government spending is brought to heel, and the people are allowed to keep more of the money they earn, the economy will be more efficient. It is incredibly costly for we the people when we get caught in a battle of dueling EOs every time power changes hands in D.C. Congress must get off their a**es and pass laws that make Trump’s EOs permanent. Senate Democrats took no time in displaying their inability to get the message. They are doing everything in their power to delay the approval of Trump’s nominees. The people spoke on Nov. 5th. Democrat Senators are throwing sand in the gears of the Trump government. If they don’t approve of a nominee, they would be doing their duty to vote against that nominee. But to be obstructionists is harmful to the people who elected them. If they continue this behavior, they must be removed from office the next time they are up for reelection.
Thank you for taking the time to read my latest post. I hope you found it worthy of your time. Bob
It’s like a renaissance after the dark ages. It’s like a rope provided to a man in a deep hole, it’s like the jaws of life cutting through to the victim of a car crash…… it’s like a…..oh…you get the idea!
Will Democrats decide to place America first? The proof for each Senator or Representative will be obvious in the next couple months. Those that continue to act like they did during the previous administration need help in exiting government.
No more pardons should ever be given, commutations maybe.
As for those who commit crimes of violence, their punishment should not be a slap on the wrist.
Flash,
As always (almost), I agree with all of your comments. Every elected representative, at any level of government, who doesn’t put America first should be run out of town on a rail. I think Congress has to take a look at creating parameters around pardons. I feel that Trump was justified in pardoning most of the J6ers. Those who committed violent acts should be required to serve a fair amount of time in jail. Things are moving at a furious pace. Keep it up Mr. Disruptor. Bob
Great job, Bob! I feel like I wrote your post! Being a part of the ‘older’ population, I have never felt this hopeful in my entire life! This FREEDOM is feeling great! I’m still on a high from President Trump winning the election, and now he is our President! Life is Good….very, very good!
Sharon,
I agree with you on every count. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. Bob
