How Could Anyone Be Against Deporting Criminals?

It was my intention to write a series of nonpartisan articles following the election. Last week’s post was the first. I thought the results of the last election told politicians that we were done with the status quo. I thought we told our elected representatives we wanted the borders closed and illegal aliens deported. The polls were overwhelmingly in favor of both. Therefore. it is incomprehensible to me that this week’s edition could be controversial. Yet apparently it is! Because there is a con side to this debate, I’ll make no effort to be careful about ruffling feathers.

I’ll start with a quick refresher. According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Deputy Director, Patrick J. Lechleitner, as of 7/24, there are 662,566 noncitizens with criminal records on its dockets living in the U.S. (That is a population greater than that of Boston). Of that number, 435,719 (population of Minneapolis) are convicted criminals, and 226,847 (population of Richmond, VA) have pending criminal charges. Customs and Border Protection agents apprehended a total of 367 people whose names appeared on the terror watchlist between fiscal years 2021 and 2024. For comparison, there were just 14 of them picked up from 2017-2020. Don’t forget it took only 19 evil people to carry out the terrible 9/11 terrorist attacks against innocent Americans. As this blog is being prepared there are 1.3 million people living here illegally on the taxpayer’s dime after having lost their asylum cases. A judge ruled against them, and they were ordered to leave the country. They thumbed their noses at us and decided to stay. Our government ignored the growing problem.

The Trump administration has said it will order all appropriate federal law enforcement agencies to prioritize the 3 types of illegal aliens mentioned above when rounding up illegals for deportation. It is unfathomable that any person elected to protect the citizens who elected them could say they will refuse to help in the apprehension of convicted criminals. But the list of elected defiers grows longer every day. There are currently 11 sanctuary states. They are: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and D.C. The Governor of New Jersey said. “If it is contrary to our values we will fight to the death.” I’d bet that the law-abiding citizens of New Jersey would think it against their values to allow felons to run free in their streets. The Governor of Illinois said, “You come for my people, you come through me.” By saying “my people” he obviously means criminal illegal aliens. His actions will put the needs of citizens behind “my people”. The Governor of Massachusetts said, “The key here is that every tool in the toolbox is going to be used to protect our citizens, to protect our residents . . . “. While proofreading this blog, it was reported that yesterday, three illegal aliens were arrested in Mass. Two of them were charged with forcibly raping children in Mass. The third was charged with the same offense while living in Brazil. The Governor’s toolbox clearly favors the residents as opposed to the citizens.

Sanctuary states give the jurisdictions within their states permission to refuse to cooperate with ICE in apprehending illegal aliens. In Illinois and Oregon, it is unlawful for law enforcement agencies to work with ICE. Think about that. In those 2 states it is illegal, not frowned on, not discouraged, it is illegal for state and local law enforcers to cooperate with federal law enforcers to take criminals off the streets. Along with these states there are approximately 600 sanctuary jurisdictions, cities, counties, etc., in the U.S. It is mind numbing to think there could be so many so-called leaders who would put foreigners who have committed crimes ahead of the citizens who put them in office. It is absolutely dumbfounding that voters who are facing more dangerous streets and neighborhoods continue to march to the polls every 2 or 4 years and reelect them.

Tom Homan has been named the new “Border Czar”. Starting on 1/20, he will be in charge of finding, arresting, and deporting, the 3 groups of illegals listed above. You want to know the safest bet of the decade? Bet that Homan will approach the problem more aggressively than did Kamala Harris, the previous Border Czar.

Speaking of Mr. Homan, if you are a regular reader, you will know how emotional I can get when talking about the 320,000 minor children who have gone missing since entering our country unattended over the last 4 years. It is a national disgrace that the leaders of this country haven’t had an all hands on deck attitude insisting that we find these innocent children. Border Czar Homan has said finding and protecting these kids will be one of his highest priorities. God speed Mr. Homan.

Sanctuary cities and states act as magnets for illegals with bad intentions. Because of that, Mayors and Governors of these jurisdictions are putting the safety and well-being of their citizens at unnecessary risk. Our country is being overrun by brutal, organized, gangs. Murder, rape, assaults, and other violent crimes are on the rise everywhere. Going forward it will be up to us to identify, then remove from office, every elected official who refuses to put American citizens first. Every one of them who supports sanctuary cities and/or states must be defeated. There can be no excuse for treating people who have committed crimes, and are here illegally, better than honest citizens. It is not compassionate to give criminals a pass. This is one of the times when a quote from Adam Smith, an 18th century Scottish philosopher and economist, seems appropriate. He said, “Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.” A bit harsh perhaps, but accurate nonetheless. We started the ball rolling on Nov. 5th. It is up to us to see that it gains momentum.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my latest thoughts. Please share it with family and friends. Bob

Now the mayor of Denver joined in the lunacy of protecting illegal criminals. The only way to sanity is the locals must vote out these people who put immigrants above the citizens of their cities.

      Dave,
I have watched the interviews with the simple-minded Mayor of Denver. He is so blinded by ideology that he is willing to sacrifice the safety of his citizens for the good of illegal criminals. The people of Denver, the majority of whom want illegal immigrant criminals deported, must step up and vote him out of office. It is very possible that he will be arrested for harboring these criminals. That could also get him removed from office. One way or another he must be put out of office. Thanks for your comments, Bob

Bob, we’ve know each other for a long time. Thinking back to employment at UPS, I have no problems ruffling anyone’s feathers. From what I have seen and read, the 9/11 tragedy was done by our own terrorist. The video I saw showed how our government produced a giant hologram . The so called aircraft where an illusion, the buildings where destroyed by planted explosives that where remotely triggered. That is why they collapsed just like someone was demolishing them with little collateral damage. I still remember watching on TV the day it happened. An aircraft appeared to approach the tower from the left, enter the tower on the left side, then the nose of the aircraft appeared too exit the right side of the tower with no damage to the nose at all. Then the explosives started and debris hide the image of the nose from sight. This I think was done to influence the country against those the government blamed for the tragedy. Similar to the affect the attack on Pearl Harbor changed the thoughts of the country about being directly involved in WWII. In my opinion, corruption has been a part of both parties for a long long time. That is why, I hope for the soon return of Jesu Christ.

      Terry,
We have known each other for a long time. I worked for UPS over 50 years ago. I have read more renditions about 9/11 than I care to admit. Probably too many. I am more confused today than I have ever been on this topic. One thing I am not confused about is the corruption of both political Partys. I can’t do anything to hasten the return of Jesus. I am determined to do everything I can to make my country better for my children and grandchildren. Bob
