Why I’ll vote for President Trump

I apologize for the length of this letter. There are very few things I agree with our politicians about. That the greatest nation on earth is in a fight for its soul is one of them. I hope you’ll take the time to read this letter and pass it on to your friends.
There are two kinds of people who may vote for Biden. There are pure ideologues who will vote for him because he has a (D) after his name, and the Trump haters. You can no more reason with ideologues on the Left than you can ideologues on the Right. Likewise little can be done to assuage haters. The haters say Trump is arrogant, narcissistic, rude, a liar, and a racist. Clear thinking Americans know that Trump is no more a liar than any of his predecessors. In fact, no president in our lifetime has made good on as many of campaign promises than Trump. There has not been a president of our country in my lifetime who has done more for the minority population in the USA than Donald Trump. As for the arrogant, narcissistic, and rude, arguments let me say this to my fellow patriotic Americans. Let’s put on our big boy/girl pants to reflect on the gravity of the decision we face in less than a month. We are not tasked with electing the president of our senior class. We are about to elect the leader of the free world, the most powerful man on the planet. Being nice is nowhere to be found in the job description. I voted against Clinton in 2016. Now that I have a proven track record to review I will vote for the rude guy instead of the poor man dealing with senility. And I will do so for the following reasons.
Trump said he would cut taxes. He lead the movement to pass the largest tax cuts in generations. Some benefitted more than others, but every American worker benefitted from the cuts. Trump said he would cut corporate taxes. He cut them by 40%. Before the tax cuts we had the highest rates in the developed world. After the cuts we were among the lowest. Like magic, companies from all over the world began looking to the U.S. to build new manufacturing capacity. Millions of jobs that President Obama said were gone forever have returned. Trump said he would get rid of stifling regulations that made it difficult for businesses to be successful. He has removed countless business crushing regulations. The combination of reduced regulations and corporate tax cuts made it possible for corporations to raise wages. The Left says the tax cuts helped the rich get richer. They did. But for the first time in generations the bottom 1/3 of wage earners saw their incomes rise faster than the top 1/3. Trump said he would build a wall on the southern border. Getting no help, even from republicans, he has seen to the construction of hundreds of miles of the wall thus far. The wall has drastically reduced the flow of illegal immigrants who were taking jobs away from unskilled, entry level Americans. After Trump was elected, Left wing intellectuals told us we should prepare for countless wars. Trump promised we would not enter any war unless it was in the direct interest of the U.S. War? How about peace! Recently Trump was credited with brokering a peace accord between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. He has been nominated, three times, for the Nobel Peace Prize. He said he intended to bring a lot of our soldiers home. He has announced troop reductions in the Middle East and Germany. Why the hell do we still have tens of thousands of military personnel in Germany 75 years after WWII. Our military heroes have enjoyed at least two pay raises since Trump took office. We are no longer scavenging parts from disabled fighter jets to keep other fighters in the air. Those soldiers we are asking to risk their lives to protect our freedom are again doing so with state of the art equipment. Any president who does less should be ashamed. On the topic of troops I want to take a minute to discuss the important changes Trump has made for our veterans. The previous administration failed our veterans. Too many of them died waiting for appointments. When the failures were discovered the people involved were simply shifted to other V.A. locations. President Trump has fired, demoted, or suspended, some 8,000 V.A. employees who were not fulfilling their responsibilities. He also signed into law the MISSION ACT. This act put veterans in charge of their own health care for the first time. It allows veterans who have to wait more than 30 days, or travel more than 40 miles to a V.A. facility, to go to a private doctor. One can only guess how many of our wonderful veteran’s lives have been saved because of this Bill. Trump said he thought the USA should be energy self-sufficient. We have now achieved that goal. We are the largest producer of oil and gas in the world. Before this happened America was FORCED to intervene in every squabble in the Middle East to protect our supply of oil. That is no longer true. By the way, keeping gasoline prices around $2 a gallon is a major benefit to those at the bottom of the economic ladder. Trump has told his fair share of fibs. But no president has fulfilled more of his campaign promises in my lifetime. All while fighting the Left, the Right, and the Press.
Is Trump a racist? Let’s look at a few facts. Because of his policies African Americans, Hispanics, and Asians were enjoying the lowest unemployment rates in history. Our first black president promised criminal reform legislation for 8 years. In his first 2 years Trump pushed through the First Step Act. The Act saw thousands of low level offenders released from prison. Over 90% of those released were black. Trump has identified thousands of “Opportunity Zones” across the country. These are poverty stricken sections of cities that have a hard time finding funding for people who want to start businesses. So far Trump has coerced nearly 75 billion dollars of private capital for these zones. Not a single taxpayer dollar will be used. Trump did something unprecedented for the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Traditionally the HBCUs had to go to D.C. every year, hat in hand, waiting to see what they were going to receive. Trump pushed through the largest contribution in history to the HBCUs. As a businessman he understands how difficult it is to run a large organization on a year by year basis. So Trump committed the record sum for 10 years. For the first time these colleges will be able to do some long term planning. That can be nothing but good news for students who will attend these fine schools. Would a racist have done any of these things? Finally I am going to list the things that we should be thinking about as we enter the polling places. (Yes I will be voting in person). Are you okay with the idea of aborting a baby up to the moment of delivery? Do you support allowing transgender girls to compete on girls athletic teams, and to dress/undress and shower in girls locker rooms? Are you in favor of defunding the police? The Left really thinks we are stupid. No they say, we don’t want to defund the police. We want to take money out of their budget. Well duh. Do you think it is okay to loot, riot, and burn down property without consequences? Is no cash bail okay with you? Should criminals be arrested tonight and released tomorrow morning without paying bail? Are you okay with voting for candidates who solicit funds to cover bail for protestors/rioters? Do you support trashing the 1st and 2nd amendments? It’s new on the radar screen, but are you in favor of adding Justices to the Supreme Court? Do you agree with V.P. Biden that Americans don’t have the right to know where he stands on this important issue? Where do you stand on the government managing your health care? How do you think the government managed the 9 million veterans enrolled in the VA before Trump became president? Do you think they will do a better job when all 330 million Americans are enrolled? Do you want to bet your life on it? Me neither.
The choice is simple. We can vote for Biden/Harris and more government control over our lives. Or we can vote for Trump/Pence and save what we have left of our freedoms and liberty. I’m voting for the rude guy!
