Is It Arrogance, Ineptitude, or Corruption? Yes!

To weeks ago I posted a few examples of government ineptitude, arrogance, and/or corruption. This week I will make a couple suggestions as to what American citizens should do to remind representatives at every level of our government that they work for us, not the other way around. We pay their salaries, we pay for their best in the world health care and retirement plans. We allow them to create perks for themselves that are not available to us. Indeed, they exempt themselves from laws we are punished for breaking. We are taught that we live in a representative form of government, yet our elected representatives ignore their constituents demands. It is critical that we continue to build on the momentum created when a large number of parents decided to protest at school board meetings to protect their children. Since then we are witnessing an impressive backlash from ‘We The People’ at multiple venues, in both the public and private sector. This is as good a time as any to flex our muscles and remind our elected representatives who the bosses are.

I am going to start by saying something I can’t believe I am saying. I am going to suggest we support a recommendation made by Rep. Nancy Pelosi. Not the group she mentioned mind you, but the idea she posited. Last Sunday, Pelosi was asked, in an interview with MSNBC, if she thought there should be changes made to the Supreme Court. (When the Progressive Left doesn’t like a SCOTUS ruling they set out to destroy the institution). Pelosi responded thusly: “There certainly should be term limits.” “And if nothing else, there should be some ethical rules that would be followed.” I agree with her on both counts. The message is solid, the messenger makes a mockery of the idea. Nancy recognizes the wisdom of term limits, IF they are applied to a different branch of government. For comparison’s sake, she is 83 years old and has served in Congress since 1987. She is no spring chicken. Clarence Thomas is the longest serving member of the current Supreme Court. He is 75 years old and has served for 32 years. Hmm. And ethics? The Pelosis have stuffed their pockets with multiple millions of dollars of what would be ill-gotten gains had any of us done the same thing. She has taken millions of our tax dollars back to her home district to ensure her reelection. At the end of this blog you will find a sample term limit letter that I hope you will send to your member of the U.S. House of Representatives and both of your U.S. Senators.

The second sample letter I produced is designed to help us figure out, not only if our elected representatives know there are only 2 genders, but which of them are willing to protect the safety and privacy of our children. First, we must recognize that all but the most feeble minded among us recognize there are only 2 genders. Yet somehow the Senate recently approved Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve for the rest of her life on the Supreme Court. During confirmation hearings she was asked to give her definition of the word, “woman”. She fumbled, mumbled, and ultimately said something like, I am not a biologist, I can’t define the word “woman”. Huh? If she can’t define the word “woman” how much confidence should we have in her ability to interpret the meaning of the 2nd Amendment? It is time for us to demand that our representatives take a stand on this important issue and make that stand clear to their constituents. I hope the letter below will do just that.

This letter is meant to be sent to the representatives of your State House and State Senate.

Dear Rep/Senator Smith, We are voters living in your district. We are angry that males are still being allowed to participate on female athletic teams and use the locker/shower facilities designated for females, and vice versa. The safety and privacy rights of our children are being threatened by a lack of action by you and your peers. It is time that you sponsor legislation to protect our kids. We are instructing you to pass a law that keeps biological males from participating on the athletic teams and out of locker/shower facilities designated for biological females, and vice versa. The vast majority of your constituents want this legislation to happen. We will be watching for your legislation, or to hear from you as to why you refuse to protect the children of our state. Thank you, Your name

This letter is designed for your member of the U.S. House of Representatives and your 2 U.S. Senators.

Rep./Senator, Over 80% of Americans agree that members of Congress should be bound by term limits. You can count us as part of that majority. In a representative form of government, representatives are elected to follow the wishes of their constituents. We are directing you to co-sponsor legislation limiting the years that people can serve in Congress to 12 years. We are waiting for your response, either by sponsoring term limit legislation, or the reason why you won’t. Thank you, Your name

These letters are not copyrighted. Please feel free to make copies and give them to all of your friends. You can use them exactly as written, or as templates to produce your own letter. Our elected representatives are not clairvoyant. We must let them know what we want them to do. If they won’t do as we wish, we must replace them with someone who will.

Thank you for reading my blog, Bob

Everyone wants term limits BUT not their Representative or Senators. The public needs to know what their legislators are doing to them
