Lead, Follow, Or Shut The Hell Up!

WARNING! I have finally hit the pissed off wall. After hundreds of speeches, meetings, blog postings, and countless hours on Facebook, I’ve had it. The whining and complaining finally got on my last nerve. So I am warning you, before you go one sentence farther you are going to read words that I rarely use, let alone print. There are a lot of Americans who are ready to, or are already, making a difference in the future of our country. God bless you. Some have stepped up and taken leadership roles. Others are looking for someone they are comfortable following. That leaves us with those who just want to bitch. Unless you are in the arena, you don’t have a right to complain. You need to stop pretending you care, and shut the hell up! You are nothing more than a shrill nuisance. That was what, in the securities industry, we call full and fair disclosure.

After spending a few hours on Facebook the last few days I just simply couldn’t take it any more. I am tired of hearing perfectly healthy, intelligent, people complain about how bleak the future looks for their children or grandchildren. The future will be, must be, bleak for our progeny if we don’t push back against the tyranny caused by an overreaching federal government. I’ll prime the pump with a few examples.

Let’s look first at the Green New Deal. Where in our Constitution does it give government the right to decide what kind, or size, of car we citizens are allowed to drive? They’ve been doing that for over 20 years. We have been forced to downsize when buying new cars for decades. They do not have the authority to incentivize one car maker over another. Yet they have been paying rebates to rich people who buy electric vehicles for years. They are trying to pass legislation that would pay a higher rebate on electric vehicles made by union workers than those made by non-union workers! Can’t be legal. The government doesn’t care. If customers want electric vehicles, manufacturers will build them. Until that time, the American people should give a collective middle finger to the government concerning electric vehicles.

They say we must eat less meat because of the pollution caused by the flatulence of animals. Bull shit! Rather, buffalo shit! Between 150-200 years ago there were upwards of 60 million buffalos farting all over the Great Plains. There are drastically fewer creatures of the bovine variety farting today. If God had wanted us to exist on lettuce, tofu, and seaweed, he wouldn’t have given us 4 canines with which to tear, and chew, meat! Deal with it.

The move away from fossil fuels is being driven by frightened, climate change, radicals. It is important that calm and considered heads prevail. Few would disagree it is positive to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels. To shut down fossil fuel production before we know how to replace it is irresponsible. It is foolish, indeed dangerous, to put the future of our country’s economy in the hands of climate change zealots, and buffoonish bureaucrats. Think about it. Our government routinely sends hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars to prisoners. They struggle to get shipping containers unloaded. Are these the people you want planning how to heat and cool our homes and factories without fossil fuels? Do you really want them in charge of deciding when to turn off the fossil fuel spigot? I DON’T! Look we are producing, and consuming, fossil fuels in a much more environmentally friendly way than just 10 years ago. Let’s quit being so frightened and allow technology, and the marketplace, to work this out. We have always innovated our way out of messes before, we will do it again, if the government will just get out of the way.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say, “they are taking away our country” I could buy my own private island. Going forward, I intend to be less polite when responding to that lament. Nobody is stealing our country! Those who choose to sit on their asses and bitch are forfeiting it. Those who are smart enough to identify problems need to step up and be part of the team that dedicates itself to solving the problems. Because you see, those who only identify problems and make no attempt to fix them, are nothing more than whiners. In a growing number of cities we are seeing citizens make a difference. All across this great country parents are attending school board meetings to protect their children from the indoctrination led by the Progressive Left. They are holding board member’s, and administrator’s, feet to the fire. They have shown up with examples of pornographic books they found in elementary libraries. They have produced direct examples of racism being practiced in their schools. They are running for school board seats, and recalling board members who refuse to take them serious. You want to protect your children and grandchildren? You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Find out if there are groups like the following in your area: Foundation Against Intolerance + Racism, Parents Defending Education, No Left Turn In Education, PragerU Resources For Educators + Parents, and Undoctrinate.org. These are all groups that have formed to stop the encroachment of indoctrination in public schools. You don’t have to be a leader. You won’t have to give any speeches. You should show up at school board meetings, be willing to sign petitions, and/or write a check to support those who are on the front line. In speeches I often ask the audience the following question. What would you do if someone harmed, or threatened to harm, your children or grandchildren? Even after the red line warning above, I am not comfortable printing some of their responses. Well guess what Bunky, your progeny are being threatened right now. If you aren’t willing to support this crucial movement, or one of any number of others, then stop with the bull shit. Hell, you aren’t even fooling yourself with your false bravado. How will you answer your grandchildren when they ask: What did you do when they were taking away our freedom grandpa(ma)? Your children and grandchildren will have to fend for themselves.

You can get involved by finding groups that are already making a difference. You can attend meetings to support them. You can donate money to worthy causes. You can offer to staff offices, or address and stuff envelopes. There is a lot to do. What you can’t do is nothing. It is relatively un-American to expect others to defend your rights. Don’t be that person.

There is a growing number of patriotic citizens, I refer to them as Paul Reveres, who are stepping up in leadership roles to stop governmental overreach. It takes a lot of courage to be among the first to step up and put yourself in the crosshairs of the woke community. These are unpaid people who are more concerned about the future welfare, and freedom, of their children than about personal public ridicule. Now that the “early adopters” have proven that opposition isn’t fatal, others have joined in their efforts. We are witnessing an unprecedented groundswell of citizen activity pertaining to governmental pushback. If we are to be successful in returning our country to we the people it must me just the tip of the iceberg. It is now time for those who have sat on the sidelines to get in the game. There are plenty of issues that need our attention, and lots of ways for us to make our voices heard. It is unacceptable for Americans to sit idly by and expect others to carry their load. Now that everyone has access to the internet there is no excuse for ignorance. The time is right for us to join the Paul Reveres. It is time for us to protect the freedoms previously provided in the greatest nation on earth. The warning this time won’t be the British are coming. This time the Paul Reveres are warning, the government is coming. This time we don’t need guns and bullets. This time we simply need your attendance, your assistance. Your say you’re not comfortable giving a speech, or attending a meeting? How about writing a check, or stuffing envelopes. There is plenty of things that need to be done. Let’s act like the great Americans who preceded us. Let’s get involved! I hope you found this post motivating. If you did please tell your friends about it.

      Sue,
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on this post. Every American is blessed to live in the greatest nation on earth. We are facing a government that is trying to take away our freedoms. Our indifference puts us at risk for just such a loss. We must each dedicate some of our time to doing the things that will ensure that doesn’t happen. Thanks again, Bob

      Ron,
I am forever saddened by those who don’t appreciate our fabulous country, or how easily it can all be taken away. We must dedicate time to be sure the freedoms we have enjoyed will be enjoyed by our children and grandchildren. Thanks for reading the post, and taking the time to respond. Bob

Excellent blog. You have nailed it. We can all find our nitch to be a Patriot. We also need to call and email those that represent us in Government. Hopefully we will get them at the ballot box this fall.

      Nancy,
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my post. It takes me hours to research most of them. It is gratifying to know someone is reading. In this fight to save our Republic there is something for everyone to do. Calling and emailing representatives is something everyone can do. I fear this fall may be our last, best, chance to get rid of some of the Progressive Left leaders in D.C. I hope everyone understands the urgency. I hope things are well with you, Jim, and the family. Thanks again, Bob

Yes… Speak up and do something… Or stop complaining.
I am excited about attending the rally next weekend in DC against vaccine mandates! It’s an international event and I will get to be with some of my wonderful friends and thousands of others who feel as I do! I’ve been fortunate to have made many new friends on my journey… My tribe! There’s some pretty amazing people out there.

This week I was lucky to find out about ( short notice of couse) the state school board meeting where they were presenting a resolution on mandating masks and setting up vaccine clinics in schools. I along with…what they referred to as thousands…sent in emails and listened to the zoom call as Many tried to get through. Two of my friends were lucky enough to get through and spoke very eloquentl. One brought up the fact that the amounts of covid money given to the school districts which …of course …came along with strings attached. After more than 7 hours…more than 90% of the calls expressed were against the resolution. Altough we thought it would pass… In the end…it did not! Yay… At least for now!

      Jamie,
Way to go! I am proud of you, and everyone else involved, for having the courage to stand against this terrible government overreach. With school closings, and maskings, our children are being harmed, some irreparably. For the first time in some time I am feeling like the American people have had enough. Since parents learned that speaking against CRT at school board meetings isn’t fatal we are seeing more people line up to be counted. Our Republican form of government was established for a people who are informed, and involved. If we remain silent and allow government to trample all over our rights, we shouldn’t be surprised when it does. Good luck in D.C. Be sure to tell your friends about my blog. Thanks for taking the time to read, and respond to, this post. Thanks, Bob

    Bob,
You nailed it. Now we need to “make it happen” We can all begin this moment , by simply refusing to comply with all government over reach. “HELL NO” should be our motto.
Keep up the good work Bob.
    Steve France
