I am sad that I felt it necessary to resume writing my blog with an in your face post. But after watching news(?) and polling results for the last few months it seems justified. I am comforted in the belief that this blog is nonpartisan, it may piss everyone off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am disappointed, even angry, as I watch 350 million Americans living in the greatest country in the world ignore an imminent threat to the freedom that millions of our ancestors fought, and died, to secure or preserve. We are taking a cavalier attitude toward a group of people who have organized to overthrow our Republic. Socialists, and Progressive Democrats, (but I repeat myself) are preying on the apathy, ignorance, and stupidity of Americans. There is nothing democratic about socialism. Adding the word democratic to the word socialist doesn’t make it so. I am reminded of something my dear departed dad used to say after using the toilet. Mom’s air freshener of choice was Pine Sol. She would get after him if he didn’t spray. He would dutifully go back and spray. Then he would say: I hope you’re satisfied. Now it smells like somebody crapped under a pine tree. I think this is a perfect analogy for Democratic Socialism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sept. 11, 2001, 4 airplanes were hijacked by Muslims. Two of them crashed into World Trade Center buildings. One crashed into the Pentagon. In the case of the 4th plane, heroic passengers overtook the hijackers and the plane crashed in a field in PA. In total, over 3,000 innocent people were killed in those terrorist attacks. If you are old enough to remember that awful day you can remember New Yorkers promising to never forget. Just 25 years later New Yorkers elected a foreign-born Muslim as their mayor. Apathy: only 40% of registered voters showed up to vote in the election. Ignorance: a preponderance of young people voted for the socialist. They have been indoctrinated to believe socialism is the Nirvana of economic systems. They don’t know any better. Stupidity: people were too stupid to understand that most of his campaign promises were not possible, some not even legal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It doesn’t feel right knowing that a socialist is the mayor of the largest city in the U.S. But it is a deep blue city politically. However, it isn’t just New York. Seattle, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles have mayors who identify as socialists, or whose actions are socialistic. The socialists are very crafty. Governor Spanberger of VA. campaigned as a moderate. Immediately after the election she reversed many of her predecessor’s mandates. Currently in Texas and Michigan, Dem. Senate candidates are backing away from their earlier socialistic comments. Apparently, polls are more important than character traits, and the electorate IS pretty stupid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are about a month away from one of the most important midterm elections of our lives. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents are facing an awesome responsibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Democrats, especially those who blindly walk into the voting booth and pull the straight party ticket lever, MUST take a few minutes to review the candidates. (This is especially true this November in Michigan, Texas, and Minnesota). Most will spend more time planning their vacations than choosing the people who will decide their future. I am constantly befuddled by the decisions made by most of my Dem. friends. (I have a lot of them). When I ask if they favor boys being allowed in girl’s locker rooms and to compete on girl’s athletic teams, they answer no. When I ask if they favor defunding the police, or releasing convicted criminals from prison, their response is, hell no. Do they want to reopen the southern border to millions of illegal immigrants? No. Are they in favor of illegals collecting government benefits or voting in our elections? No. Should children be allowed to go through permanent sex change operations? Should tax payers be on the hook for sex change operations for criminals? Should male criminals who identify as females be transferred to female prisons? They answer no, no, and no. They either have no idea (ignorant) that many of the people they will vote for when they pull the straight Dem. ticket lever are in favor of most, or all, of the above (apathetic). If you care about your children and grandchildren, please take the time to research the candidates. I am not as well informed about the candidates in Texas and Minnesota. I am very well informed about our Democratic Socialist candidate in Michigan, Abdul El Sayed. He has, at one time or another, came out in favor of nearly all of the above. If you vote a straight party ticket, you are voting for this smooth talking socialist. Please do your homework. We don’t need another socialist lawmaker in D.C. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Independents typically carry the deciding votes in many statewide and national elections. They don’t vote straight tickets nearly as frequently as Republicans or Democrats. Therefore, they seem to do a better job of researching individual candidates. Having no political affiliation, they are less likely to be fooled by slick charlatans like El Sayed in Michigan, Talarico in Texas, or Flanagan in Minnesota. If I am correct, all three of these socialists may go down in defeat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before I close with my admonition of and challenge to Republicans, a short history reminder is in order. Every generation has had challenges to overcome. The Founder’s generation, 250 years ago, desperately wanted freedom and liberty. So much so that after producing the Declaration of Independence, they brought together a like-minded bunch of farmers and merchants and defeated the greatest military power in the world. Their challenge was a life or death revolution to attain said freedom. We were challenged by the Civil War then 2 World Wars. The Great Depression was sandwiched in between. The challenge facing us today is not as immediately life threatening. It is nevertheless just as urgent. That is the reemergence of the Socialist Party. Our challenge is greater than rooting out those who declare themselves as members of the Democratic Socialists of America, (DSA), although that is where we must start. The threat is much deeper than that. We must also work to defeat those Dems. who refuse to denounce DSA members. The simple truth is that most Dems., especially Progressive Dems. line up in favor of the policies, listed above, that most Americans abhor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That brings me to the responsibility that has heretofore been ignored by too many Republicans in midterm elections. Nothing I mentioned above about Dems. matters one whit IF Republicans get off of their duffs and vote. I have never understood people who profess to love their country, and their children, can sit at home and allow evil people they disagree with to get elected. Real Republican patriots must set a plan to encourage voter turnout. 1. Be sure to vote. 2. Talk to the young voters you know about the historic horrors of socialism. Many literally do not know. 3. Make a list of acquaintances you think might not make the effort to vote. Convince them to request an absentee ballot. If they don’t, be sure to call them on election day and ask if they need a ride to the polls. 4. Continue to ask moderate Dem. friends the questions I listed above. Remind them that, if they vote Dem. they will be voting to allow all of them. Look, there was a time when voting was an onerous event. Farmers would hitch up the wagon and ride miles to town in order to cast their ballots. They could have been excused for missing an election or two. There is no excuse today! We have multiple days to cast a ballot in person, or we can request absentee ballots. Remember, when Republicans stay home, dangerous people like Abdul El Sayed get elected. It happened in New York. I pray it doesn’t happen in Michigan, Texas, Minnesota, or anyplace else in the U.S. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
